My New CafePress Store!
My new store is every bit a work in progress, but I wanted to introduce you to my new family friendly, CafePress store! The name is SparkleSpot as I hope to convey messages that are well... happy and sparkly! lol
So far I have designs fitting for WAHM's and for totally awesome children. Soon I'll have designs up for super dads, homeschoolers, and a handful of seasonal designs. I'll also be adding fun Christian apparel with uplifting and encouraging verses and themes.
Be sure to check me out! I'd love the company. If you have any advice... positive or constructive... it's all good. I could use the feedback. This is my first paid CafePress site and I'm learning as I go, hoping this might take the place of some of my blogging income.
See ya there! I hope! lol

10 Reasons To Complain About Snow
We finally had our first real snow for the year, not a lot mind you, but just enough for me to reflect on why I sometimes dream of living somewhere else.
As beautiful as snow is, there are a few reasons why as an adult, I really don't enjoy it all that much. Here are 10 reasons I could do without it:
- It makes a mess in your van, especially when you have kids coming into the vehicle from a black snow covered parking lot.
- It means your husband's 20 minute commute home from work will take 2 hours and he'll be anything but pleasant when he finally does get home.
- It's too cold
- It's too wet
- You have to shovel it from your driveway and sidewalks before someone delivers a package or decides to walk their dog past your house.
- Your children cannot resist jumping into every snowbank they find regardless of how large or small it may be, meaning their shoes are wet until the temperatures peak over 30 degrees.
- Once the snow does melt, you can't keep your car (or your kids) clean.
- Few people really know how to drive on snow, meaning there's a good chance someone will hit the light pole in front of our house again this year.
- "Mom, where are my other mitten?"
- You finally have a date night planned with your husband and an ice/snow storm hits and guess what?
Ok, there's my list. I'm not a winter person.

Merry Christmas & Woo Hoo Old Navy!
The online bargains are EVERYWHERE! I just found a great sale going on at Old Navy and my kids need back-to-school clothes. Yes, said back-to-school. You see.... we're no longer homeschooling after this month. I'm sending my kids to a brick and mortar school and I couldn't be more excited!
Sounds weird to hear a homeschooler say that, but I have special reasons which you can read about on my homeschooling blog that will clear that matter up!
In any case, I wanted to tell my readers about the Old Navy thing, because they have very nice kid's clothing and adding a sale and free shipping means a deal you can't pass up. I found this code in my email this morning: 20FREESHIP, which will save you 20% off and give you free shipping when you spend $100. That might seem like a lot of money, but you'll get a lot for that money. I'm buying 9 shirts, a new coat and a pair of jeans for my kids which after the discount added up to only $95 before taxes. I'd say that's a deal!
Ok... have fun! Let me know what you buy! I'm not being paid to share this info with you. This isn't an advertisement, but maybe Old Navy should send me a gift certificate or something? lol

Any Blog Template Designers Want a Project?
If you're a template designer who would like a free plug on both this blog and my Mommy Space blog in exchange for a facelift to this Adventure's blog... PLEASE don't hesitate to email me directly. My email addy is in the right sidebar and I would be thrilled to hear from you! A free plug is a good thing right? I'll also give you free ad space (button in sidebar) of my Cake Space blog, which bounces between a PR 3 and 4, depending on how Google feels about me at any given time. Oh, Google... gotta love 'em... I guess.
I'd absolutely love to have something exciting going on here. I find orange and green especially exciting, brown's and shades of pink are also fun, but the orange and green keeps me happy and seems to inspire me to blog more often. I know this based on the colors of my Homeschooling Blog. Earthy colors mixed in could work too. I love vertical stripes and polka dots, or a mix of both. Also, a comical image of a brunette mom juggling life at home with kids could be fun!
Ok, I'm waiting patiently and realizing there's the possibility no one will bite! lol Oh, but if you do... God Bless ya big time!

Power Properties Revitalizes Dilapidated Dallas Buildings
What a great idea... rehabilitating buildings in Eastern Dallas, Texas. Rather than demolishing these structures, some of which are historic landmarks, Power Properties completely restores dilapidated buildings and homes, renovating foundations, plumbing, electrical components, and even giving aged structures an external face lift.
Braden Power strives to create living spaces appealing to young, single professionals. Currently Power Properties acquires some 100 structures a year giving run down portions of Dallas something to be proud of.

Happy Birthday to Me!
Today is my birthday and I'm not doing anything special to celebrate... at least not yet. When you're 30 something and a stay-at-home mom, how much celebrating can you do? lol How much celebrating do you want to do?
Rather than celebrating the anniversary of my birth, I've found it far more satisfying to console myself with a bit of online shopping. I rarely buy for myself, but over the last couple of days have ordered new shoes, swim shorts, a new pair of blue jeans, and a cell phone. That was fun and about all the excitement I need in my life right now. I'm not feeling a bit guilty about my spending habits over the last 48 hours as I figure I'm doing my part to help the economy! lol I was able to give a little boost in sales to Land's End, TMobile, and the eBay seller who sold me the new Levi's. You are all soooo very welcome! : )
How do you celebrate your birthday? How have birthdays changed over the years for you? Do you still get a cake? Do you get gifts? Do you pretend like it's just another day? Do you thank God for giving you another year of life?

Cydcor... More Than Just Outsourced Sales
Cydcor offers more than just excellent outsourced face-to-face sales... it's a company who gives back through encouraging it's team members to volunteer in their very own communities. How do they do that? They make it easy by giving their employees paid time off to serve! Those team members then have the option to serve any non-for-profit organization of their choosing in order to improve the lives of others. They call it Volunteer Day, but I call it revolutionary! Every company should follow their lead.
Choose Cydcor, the leader in outsourced face-t0-face sales, and have the added satisfaction of knowing you're supporting a strong philanthropist.
CYDCOR Launches Volunteer Day
CYDCOR, the leading provider of outsourced, face-to-face sales teams, has introduced CYDCOR Cares - Volunteer Day, a new internal program to encourage team members to get more involved in their local communities*
Westlake Village, CA (PRWEB) April 26, 2008 -- CYDCOR, the leading provider of outsourced, face-to-face sales teams, has introduced CYDCOR Cares - Volunteer Day, a new internal program to encourage team members to get more involved in their local communities.
The company's new CYDCOR Cares Volunteer Day benefit provides eight hours paid time off annually to its team members, giving them the opportunity to donate their time and talents to non-profit, community or charitable organizations of their choice. "
CYDCOR is dedicated to giving back and getting involved with charitable causes - it is food for our company's soul,'' said Gary Polson, chief executive officer for CYDCOR. "The success of our company can be measured, in part, by looking at how we can contribute to the well-being of the community, and we want to encourage our team members to get involved in causes they are passionate about."
Volunteer Day extends CYDCOR's culture of community involvement. Since 2007, CYDCOR has maintained a relationship with Casa Pacifica, a residential treatment facility in Camarillo for abused, neglected and emotionally disturbed children. Employees have helped organize its community donations, and CYDCOR recently donated $2,500 to support the Casa Pacifica's programs.
About CYDCOR, Inc.
CYDCOR, Inc., is the leading provider of outsourced, face-to-face sales teams to a diverse client base of companies in a range of industries, including telecommunications, office products, retail energy and financial services. CYDCOR works with a network of independently owned corporate licensee (ICL) sales offices providing clients with access to more than 2,700 sales professionals and 200+ offices in North America.
